i always imagined photographing food (or any kind of product) not to be as exciting as travel or portrait photography. but coming across these photos of fabulously photographed foods changed my mind. the photographer, michael crichton, takes everyday objects (in this case, food) and makes it pop to life. there is such whimsy in the photos. he states that he tries to capture as much of the product in the 'real world' before turning to photoshop, for example, the coffee 'lick' is real and the result of many tries. and, i sure it must feel pretty liberating to throw a bologna sandwich across the room!
all photos snipped from the photographer's website
