on saturday we met up with dan and family at the river market in new westminster. our purpose was to shop for vintage treasures. new westminster has great vintage and antique stores so i wanted to attend their curious flea market event. i had my eye on a couple of favourite finds (that brass key holder and painting of the golden retriever) but ended up leaving empty handed. but that's okay, it was a wonderful day of wandering and chatting and eating with friends. a trip to new westminster is never complete without a stop at wild rice and a walk along the boardwalk.
on sunday we spent the afternoon with alexia, darrin, and kara.... lunching al fresco. i've mentioned before on this blog that alexia makes the best salads and she didn't disappoint on this day. some greens from her garden plus an amazing salad dressing makes a delicious salad. after some fun play (like swinging!) kai read sweet kara some books for her nap (i loved listening to him through the baby monitor) and then we snuck away... until next time :)
