we had a very colorful start to the weekend. take a peek...
then saturday became even better when just a couple of hours later, all cleaned up from the run, we met up with ximena and her lovely family again for an outdoor food festival in their neighborhood. playing boules / bocce was the best. i love the game even though i'm really terrible at it! i think one day my italian genes will kick in and i'll kick ass... still waiting. food-wise there was a lot to choose from but i zeroed in on corn on the cob, a definite favourite of mine at festivals. and the kiddos got to create their own cake in a jar, they loved it.

from the moment we found each other at the colour run to the very last swing in the hammock at the food festival, we enjoyed a full day with this beautiful family. so grateful to call them our friends.
