stockholm weekend pics, skogskyrkogården and cake

skogskyrkogården is such an amazing place, even in -2 degree weather!  it's a unesco world  heritage protected cemetery.  the cemetery was built in the early 20th century and in keeping with the nordic woodland experience. the grave sites and small chapels are nestled under the forest of tall pines, blending nature and architecture.  and it's a living place too with people coming to stroll, jog, mediate and of course visit loved ones.

not only did we explore skogskyrkogården but we also celebrated our friend's daughter's twelfth birthday with an outing to the cinema - we watched the last of the hunger games movie - and a most delicious cherry chocolate cake.

it's been cold in stockholm!  hope you had a lovely and warm weekend.
