hellagården

i stepped off the plane sick with a nasty head cold unable to enjoy stockholm's sunny days. for the last three days i have been sick on the couch binge watching the new season of orange is the new black while kai hangs out with friends (today he is at the neighbourhood pool with friends). but, i hope - fingers crossed - to feel much better for the weekend so i can adventure with my boys around stockholm.  the one thing kai wanted to do upon our return from toronto/vancouver was to revisit hellagården.

on the last friday evening before we left for canada, on his last day of mountain biking on the endless trails of hellagården, we picnicked and kai jumped into the lake.  he loved it and wants a repeat.  i can't blame him. sitting amongst the locals - some of them nude! - it's a peaceful and relaxing place to while away a summer evening.

kai mountain bikes here in the fall and spring.  during his 2 hour ride, i walk the trails around the lake or if particularly cold, i will sit with a book/magazine inside the cafe but i have yet to try out the sauna - one day perhaps - in the meantime i will continue to catch glimpses of the sauna goers jumping into the lake butt naked!
