with the arrival of december, swedes light up their homes. the tradition i love the most is the star light. it would seem that every swede places a paper star in their windows.
the sun is setting before three and will continue to do so earlier and earlier until the winter solstice. and the stars do make the dark days bearable. it is so pretty, all these windows dressed up with white stars.
and then there's the advent candles (see pic above). one candlestick is lit per week, counting down the weeks to christmas... 3 left!
