we filled our lungs with fresh air (albeit cold air!), me and my lovely boys.
our outing may have started with a grumpy teen who didn't want to leave the house. getting dressed, walking out the door and down the street, onto the ferry, he was refusing. but somewhere along the way, a smile, a playful demeanor, and soon enough there's laughter.
with weekdays and most nights spent in work meetings, doing laundry, picking up groceries, tending to the never ending homework pile, it's simply nice to step outside, to be together, so when we fall into bed at the end of the weekend we were each seen and noticed.
and the lunch at oaxen slip? delicious crispy chicken with black garlic and honey. the fried cauliflower dipped into jerk sauce was a favourite. the fries were perfect. it's unfortunate we had to wait a loooong time for the food and then realize we hadn't ordered enough. yet, right this very minute, i can't possibly think of a better lunch date :)
