a rainy day is for brunching

our waitress photobombing my photo
slowing one's life can come about in different ways for different people... get off the phone, breathe, invite passion into our day, being self aware, and so many more ways i am sure.

for me it starts when a friend asks me out to share a meal.  slow living is for connection...  to look a friend in the eye when we talk (not our iphone), to support, to laugh, to while away an afternoon while the rain pours down outside... only to be greeted by sunshine when we finally leave, closing the place down.

thank you anouk for a lovely slow afternoon... and the shopping.  you finding those perfect candlestick holders you have patiently been waiting for and me finding the perfect runner for my new kitchen.

let's practice slow living more often...

anouk and her candlestick holders :)

and a little bit about oaxen slip... right on the water, gorgeous interior, friendly wait staff and of course delish food.

stockholm weekend pics, laurie is here, woohoo!

i was so happy to be reunited with laurie.  for three days, we wandered around stockholm - nytorget, rosendal tradgarden, gamla stan, - and shared laughs and giggles with friends.  all the while, enjoying the sunshine, it was 23 degrees on friday!

life has brought me the most wonderful friends, i have been so lucky... girlfriends are THE best. thank you laurie for being my friend, supporter, and provider of laughs (insert heart emoji here).

a pic from last summer
hope you all had a lovely weekend too.

stockholm weekend pics, stefan's birthday!

this guy takes such good care of us, kai and i wanted his birthday to be extra special so we got busy to say thank you...

fifty-one thank yous all rolled up, everything we love about him in print...

kai made pancakes for breakfast...

i baked a cake (and yes, alexia, that reads 'cake' not 'cape')...

there were snuggles and eskimo kisses...

we met up with friends at the hornstull food market...

and walked home along the water...

once at home, we snacked and ate the cake... it was pretty good they said (and guess what? it really was)...

weekend birthday bliss, love.
