all i want for christmas is hellasgården's julbord...
before meeting up with ximena and family for our annual julbord at hellasgården, my boys and i went for a wintery walk along the lake. it was cold outside... numb toes, rosy cheeks, mittened hands. it was wonderful outside... laughing, throwing rocks into the lake, watching the water ripple.
i'll take a gazillon of these moments any day.
back at storstugan hellasgården, we meet up with ximena and family. if we were already happy, we are even happier with their arrival.
we drank glögg (mulled wine) and toasted our toes by the fireplace. once inside, as we have come to expect, the spread of swedish delectables was perfection... pickled herring, homemade bread, scalloped potates with anchoives, and yummy salads were a favourite.
a couple of champagne bottles later, we were no longer thinking about the cold outside.
here's to tradition... already looking forward to next year's julbord with these swedes!
