stockholm weekend pics: september at home
september has been quiet.
like ylva, in the pics below, i stretch and snack :) perhaps more snacking than stretching!
instead of sourdough bread, i have been trying to perfect artichokes. the stuffed ones didn't turn out quite like my mom's but the plain ones, an ode to simplicity, were just perfect. kai and i enjoyed dipping the leaves into aioli (stefan is not a fan).
and, we have been supporting our local restaurants, the new italian pizza place is a win!
i wonder, do the cats enjoy the boys being home? ylva, for certain, loves her mornings with stefan, when she gets lots of attention and treats. loki seems annoyed most of the time these days... maybe it's old age.
hope you have had a nice and relaxing september. it can be hard and we aren't all so lucky so i try to appreciate these basics.

stockholm weekend pics: pascal and carl, two swedish men
after days at home not feeling well, it was so great to get out and about. after a breakfast date with stefan at café pascal - where i enjoyed a boiled egg with kalles (a swedish creamed caviar that is a thing here) - i biked to carl eldhs ateljémuseum. it is one of my favouite musuems! on this day, they had an artist showcasing her thin thread mobiles together with the heavy realist sculptures, it was just so beautiful. visual therapy :)
pascal and carl are perfect places to recharge the mind and body.
here's to keeping healthy... where your masks and be mindful to keep physically distant.

kai turns 17!
how is it even possible that he is 17 years old today?
it was a good day... being awoken with happy birthday and princesstorta (traditional swedish birthday cake).
for the festivities, champagne to start and chocolate caramel cake to end. prezzies, friends, and lots of shenanigans and laughs. kai's requested menu of ribs, mac and cheese and broccolini was delicious and so. very. filling.
