children's art

the pile of school work and art projects that comes home at the end of the school year has finally been tended to... thanks to the rainy weekend.  it's always great to see what kai has done/made but what to do with it is a question i ask myself each and every year.  thus far i have followed the same system but i am open to ideas so if you have a system you love please do share!

for artwork, i first display it for a while - usually months - on the magnetic board in the kitchen.  when it's time to swap the display i then photograph each piece of artwork.  i keep my favourites and toss everything else.  one day i hope to put together a poster like the one in the last image.  i love it.

for coursework, i keep kai's journals.  i love reading the stories he has written; he has quite the imagination!  i also keep a few sheets from each subject; usually tests with a grade on it.  everything else gets tossed.

i think the display ideas below are clever, especially the one with the hanging clips.
