weekend pics (harm and marion, part 1)

harm and marion, my in-laws, arrived to rain! not the best way to start one's holidays but they were good sports and managed to get out and about regardless. highlights included:

- a trip to the museum of anthropology
- soccer with kai
- movie watching
- board games
- canada day celebration at granville island
- 47th wedding anniversary dinner here
- a walk in stanley park
- sampling stefan's favourite coffee shops

the museum of anthropology long-term exhibit recognizes the historical and contemporary contributions of aboriginal people and has on display some great pieces, especially in the great hall. however, my in-laws gravitated to the museum’s current exhibition, visions of enlightenment: buddhist art. it's on display until october 8th, if you are in the area and interested. the outdoor grounds includes two haida houses, poles (we tried to create one of our own!), and a reflecting pool.

canada day celebration at granville island, accompanied by our dear friends darrin, alexia, and kara.

sake ice cream

47th wedding anniversary, we dined at wild rice in new westminster after a stroll along the river boardwalk.

the boys and a soccer ball. it didn't take long for kai to get his opa outside kicking a soccer ball around, much to his delight!
