hot chocolate!





 

i plan to indulge in a weekly hot chocolate drink... sounds good, yes?  if you are in vancouver you can too!  the hot chocolate festival starts this weekend with local cafes offering limited addition hot chocolate drinks.  i am loving the sounds of these ones below... let the drooling begin :)

 

from beaucoup bakery and café: joy & salt caramel milk hot chocolate with sea salt, served with a small edible chosen to pair with this drink. available: february 2 - 8

from bel café: bengal daydream milk chocolate with sweet spices (chai), served with caramelized honey and orange palmier.  available: february 2 - february 14

 

from bella gelateria: italian honeymoon honey nouget and hazelnut made with michel cluizel chocolate, served with erin ireland's "to die for" banana bread.  available: every day of the festival

 

from chocolaterie de la nouvelle france: cardamom mexican dark chocolate infused with cardamom, served with choice of chocolate square. available: every day of the festival.

 

from soirette:  the kings cup - ode to elvis hot chocolate with peanut butter and banana, served with a macaron or a cookie made to complement the flavour of the hot chocolate.  available: january 19 - 21, jan 31 - february 2, february 12, february 13

 

from thomas haas: the lumberjack bourbon barrel-aged maple syrup hot chocolate, served with a douglas fir-infused chantilly, maple & vanilla shortbread.  available: every day of the festival

 

and so many more choices!  suffice it to say, i will be drinking hot chocolate this weekend.  what will you be up too?
