a socially distant day in värmdö!

we rented a car and headed to the archipelago for the day.

the first stop was vaxholm where we ate herring, meatballs, and salmon at bistro magazines, classic swedish dishes. sitting outdoors, we enjoyed the sun, although it was chilly when the sun hid behind the fluffy clouds.

we strolled around the waterfront.

we took the little car ferry over to rindö, a little island about 5km long. here, we visited muttley & jack, a small coffee roaster. we first met jack at the coffee festival last year. there, stefan bought a bag of his coffee and then a subscription, receiving a box of coffee every month.

jack is such a friendly guy who decided to try his hand at coffee after working in the not-for-profit sector. stefan and kai coffee tested a couple of different beans while for me, he steeped the coffee pods to make tea. it was actually quite nice.

i think stefan might decide to leave games for coffee, he was in awe.

oh, and muttley is jack's dog.

in värmdö, we stopped at hemmesta sjöäng and strolled in the woods.

while in värmdö, we, of course, had stopped at siggesta gård for fika. and, to say hej to the alpacas too.

it was our first get-away during these strange times and i am so glad we did it. we were mindful to wash hands with disinfectant at every turn and keep a safe distance away from others. i hope you have been able to have socially distant days too, stay safe.
