stockholm with h&m, skansen

the best way to experience a city is by walking... and walking we did.  stefan's parents, harm and marion, had us out the door for a daily walk during the week they stayed with us.

our fourth outing took us to skansen.  it was lovely to be there during the daylight.  even though the christmas market was closed (see this post), there was much to see.  skansen is sweden in miniature with old buildings from different parts of the country.  it is designed as a living museum so you can watch glassworkers, the joiners, breadmakers, potters, etc at work.  we visited the church on site and i must say it has the sweetest interior ever. it's no surprise that it's popular for weddings.  otherwise, we just meandered around the grounds, in and out of the workshops, and stopping for a warm drink.  and the boys, all three generations, made time for shenanigans too.
