stockholm with h&m, strandvagen och nobelparken

the best way to experience a city is by walking... and walking we did.  stefan's parents, harm and marion, had us out the door for a daily walk during the week they stayed with us.

this third installment of stockholm with h&m takes us downtown to the big city along strandvagen and towards nobelparken.

as we walked along the lovely strandvagen, a tree lined promenade, harm was always looking up, pointing at this building and that one; he loved the architecture.  the grandiose stone buildings - lined one after the other - were built between 1880 - 1910 with the goal of creating a street unlike any other in europe.  so many turrets along the 1.2km strandvagen!  and i had to walk into svenskt tenn, the swedish interior design company that has been at the very same location on the strandvagen since 1927.

as the promenade came to end, we continued into nobelparken.  opposite djurgarden, it makes for a pretty stroll along the water.  i read after the fact that this park has every tree that grows in sweden... it will be lovely to come out here again in the summer.

where the two promenades intersect, is this cafe.  we drank a cup of tea and ate some treats before venturing off into the cold again, towards home.  and, we came across abba... so marion joined them for a photo :)
