stockholm weeekend pics, oh xmas tree

tree decorating is one of my favourite holiday activities, polishing ornaments and hanging them just so.  my boys let me decorate as i wish, it's always been that way - well, except when kai was littler and i followed his lead, mostly. 

she & him christmas music playing. drinking tea. then sitting back and enjoying our tree in all of her glory.

this year, i introduced new baubles - black, white and grey.  but it wasn't enough, it was lacking.  kai, too, declared it lack lustre.  so, i added a few of our old baubles, some animals - cat, reindeer, dala horse to name a few - and, of course, santa too.  throw in a few scandi hearts, it's now just right.  

we love our tree, mixing the new and old, past and present.  it was a surprise, in the good kind of way.

aren't the images on stockholm's real estate insta site, hellonooks, gorgeous?  

although we planned to live in stockholm for two years, we have extended it for almost two more years, returning late 2018 instead.  and, we may need to find another place to live in the new year... but i am happy to move into any of these living spaces.  

the swedes sure know how to dress their homes, i am swooning over these spaces!

cactus love!

the cactus is perfect for creating an impressive interior.  evidence?  the photo above... love!

but my thumbs are not green, even a cactus doesn't stand a chance with me.  if you water too little the cactus can stop growing, water too much and it can spoil!  so i am loving the idea of introducing the cactus in other ways...
