some 4x4 photos from our weekend.
we spent much of days indoors due to the rain. although kai and i lucked out with some sunshine on saturday afternoon when we walked over to the medieval museum to while away a few hours. surrounded by the original 16th century town wall, the museum tells the story of the daily lives of medieval stockholmers. kai thought the miniature models depicting the town under seige was quite fascinating. me? i just reveled in kai's company and having some fun together.
on sunday we woke up to find stefan finally home from vancouver. and he brought back prezzies! i received goodies i had been longing for like beta 5 peanut butter easter eggs, aveda hair products, and method washing up products. kai was the happy recipient of lego and thomas haas chocolate. mostly, we were super happy to have stefan home. fingers crossed he stays put for awhile.
i have also missed eating asian noodles but having stefan bring me a bowl from the union was too much to ask for so when i learned of a pop up restaurant serving thai noodles - this weekend only - i dragged my boys out into the rain. it was worthwhile. we gobbled up big bowls of spicy and flavourful dry noodles. i wish i had known at the time but just today i learned that the chef worked at maenam in vancouver! one of our favourite restaurants. haan says, "i fell in love with the thai kitchen when i worked at maenam in vancouver. i got there right from chef school and was blown away by the flavors, textures, and complexity of the genuine thai cooking. i was also very humbled and inspired by the incredible taste palette my chef and his wife had when they spiced and tasted the food. it really made me understand how under appreciated and misunderstood so many types of asian cooking is in the eyes of many wesern-trained chefs." the pop up was put together by pop up stockholm and i can't wait to see what else they have in store for us.
hope you had a lovely weekend.
