a couple of nice and inspiring days with our friends was spent under the sun... it was a two day stretch of warmth and sunshine. the goal was to socialize - we don't see each other often enough - and relax while taking in the lovely scenery that is their backyard.
between catching up and waiting for the smoker to do its thing, we sipped gin and tonics, snacked on flatbreads, and nibbled on a spread of olives and cheeses. then, dinner, we devoured the perfectly slow smoked ribs which was diligently tended to by the men in the house and champagne was flowing too. the evening was made extra special when the littlest whipped out her chocolate fountain :)
in the morning, ximena and i were treated to a lovely breakfast with more champagne, flowers and an afternoon by the water where i had every intention to swim but the water was just too cold. instead, we sat on the rocks by the water, eating watermelon with the sun shining. i couldn't help but feel life doesn't get any better than this.
thanks to this lovely family for a beautiful two days in their 'hood, we truly appreciate it!
