i am so so happy being your mama. you're awesome and i am loving watching you grow (but take your time, don't grow too too fast, ok?). you have made my life a joy... a healthy challenge... i'm pretty lucky to have you. i can't wait to get to know 9 year old kai!

* he sometimes 'forgets' to wear underwear
* how he always seems to gravitate toward dirt, the muddier the better
* sporting 10 layers of costumes on at one time
* watching him rock it out with his 'guitar' and made up songs is one of the highlights
of my life!
* he enjoys reading... wanting to take a peek at the last page
* his love of wrestling with mom and dad and all the silly games we create out of it
* enjoys board games (i love them too so it's such fun to play together!)
* his chill temperament
* he's funny and often tries to diffuse arguments with humour... smart boy
* seeing his fearless, carefree comfort whether in the water, on the trampoline, or on the
bike... such joy for me to watch (ok, a little nerve wrecking to watch too)
* his giving of spontaneous hugs
* watching him eat whatever meal is placed in front him with gusto

this morning, before school, we celebrated kai with his favourite thomas haas cake and linkin park music and presents with a side of balloons and kisses.
