being a chronic nail biter (ever since i was a little girl) i have only ever painted my nails with clear or light coloured nail polish! so, when my girlfriend proposed that i give glam nails a try i was very hesitant. i protested, "i have no nails to polish." and "i am so not a glam kinda woman". she didn't give up... talk of gel nails was discussed and photos of nail art emailed to me.
so, just three days ago i found myself at glam nail studio with the assurance that they were one of the best (they have won numerous awards i was told and have since read on their website).
i chose an ombre effect... not too wild, subtle, and pretty. suji went wild and pretty... so not subtle.
the gel nails feel odd (i am still getting used to them) and there are some things i simply cannot do with them... like peel an onion or pick up a dime from the ground or peel the sticker from an apple! but they sure are pretty. i probably will not get the gel kind again (they weaken your nail!) but i just might try this ombre effect next... very pretty for summertime, don't you think?
