trosa is another picturesque city, with its little river running through it and adorable wooden houses lining the riverbank. some still had their small boats parked in the canal. you can't help but smile while in trosa, everything is so quaint.
we didn't expect to spend the entire day here but we managed to! strolling along the little river, admiring the cute homes.
in the teeniest town square you can find shops and cafes. we ate at marsipangården twice; once when we arrived for fika and then again for a late lunch. i highly recommend the hot chocolate!!! and we even picked up a couple of souvenirs. the best thing? every interaction was such a friendly one; it felt like we were in a storybook.

i had hoped to visit a couple of the castles in the area as well as find a forest for kai to frolic in but trosa, the town, took up our entire day (not surprising considering just how short the days are during the swedish winter months).
we did drive by tureholms slott but it was already too dark to appreciate it's facade or go inside because everything closes during the winter months.
we did have gorgeous pink skies...
