stockholm weekend pics, me and kai

with stefan away in madrid for work, kai and i finish up the school week but we have time for some fun.

smaka på stockholm (taste of stockholm) & movie night

we bike to taste of stockhom in kungsträdgården, making our way past the marathon taking place.  there's local apple cider and an array of good eats; kai gets to eating his pulled pork sandwich while i enjoy fish tacos.  because it's a festival, fries make an appearance too. there's time to kick our feet up and watch the live cooking show on the stage even though we understand nothing but a word here or there.  then, before the rain falls on us, we make our way home to watch once upon a time.

then there was sushi and guardians of the galaxy!

 

sweden national day

we take our time in the morning, kai finishing up his last school assignment, me ironing the pile of laundry that seems to grow daily.  on our bikes again, we ride along the water to kungsholmen island where we kick up our feet on the deck, play some cards and eat good food at mälarpaviljongen.  the rocking of the deck makes me feel a bit nauseous but the view and sunshine keep me put enjoying conversation and laughs with my favourite boy.

we ride into rålambshovsparken where we discover a big party celebrating sweden national day.  there are food carts and vendors and activities for the small and big.  i somehow convince kai to dance with me salsa style... priceless.

on the bridge towards home, i can't help but photograph the views... kai, impatient with my frequent stops to take photos rides along home.  it's ok, he loves the independence he gets living in stockholm and i had my time with him :)
