kai was mistaken for a girl again. we were at the pool and referring to kai, the woman behind the desk says, "if she is asked her age by the lifeguard, she should say she’s 8’." How is this possible you ask? well, when we choose to correct someone (we don't always do so), i have been told it is because he is "pretty for a boy" or more specifically, "his eyes are so pretty" or "he has such long lashes for a boy". i am flabbergasted each and every time.
kai has a haircut appointment in a couple of days but it won't matter, it's never been about his hair. he was mistaken for a girl while wearing his bike helmet, "hey dudette, nice bike." while his friend got a "hey dude." makes me laugh, which can only be a good thing, right?
