cooking

stefan has been in the uk and kai and i have had to feed ourselves now that the big pot of delicious chili stefan made for us is gone.  for those of you that do not know me, i almost never cook.  kai and i didn't do too badly.  here is some evidence.

covet garden

i think i must have been an interior designer in a past life, why else would i spend too much monies on home decor magazines?  yes, the cat is out of the bag, i am a bit of an interior's magazine junkie.  that's why when i came across covetgarden, an on-line magazine (for free!) i was happy.  the magazine showcases the every person's home, untouched by an interior designer.  you get a peek into people's lives. this idea appeals to the peeping tom in me (why didn't i think of it?).  the magazine also chats with the people who live there about what inspires them and they talk about their favourite things. check it out.

perseverance

stefan and i went snowshoeing today up grouse mountain.  the weather was very wet and cold.  i am not sure it even fun yet it still felt awfully good to accomplish the climb.  what else is there to do on a rainy day, right?

monkey business

i returned from my spin class tonight to find a mobile dangling in the kitchen.  stefan and kai were busy boys. very cute!  they used the usborne big book of science things to make and do.

i covet...

i have always wanted a globe, for as long as i can remember.  i have yet to find 'the' one. although any of these vintage beauties would be lovely.

chocolate

my boys love their chocolate.  i, on the other hand, am not so fond of chocolate.  however, if you put some nuts or mint or chai into it, i will try it.  i must admit that i do keep a bar of thomas haas' chai chocolate in my purse.  every so often, i take a nibble.  it feels indulgent and makes me happy.  stefan's thomas haas' bar lasts only days in his purse but for those who know him, that is of no surprise! thomas haas is vancouver's lovable chocolatier.  if you are ever visiting vancouver, his cafe must be on your to see list, the ceiling is a replica of chocolate molecules!
