labourade popsicles
if you are a mama-to-be then this post is for you. when i have friends who are pregnant (there are three right now and one of them is just a few weeks away from her due date!) the one thing i like to share with them is this recipe for labourade popsicles. especially since my labour was a long one, i really appreciated these popsicles. i found them refreshing and energising.
the honey and lemon helps provide much needed calories and the lemon also helps with nausea. the calcium helps with contraction pains. but mostly it helps keep labouring women hydrated since they will be doing a lot of work :) and they taste good too.
labourade popsicle recipe
ingredients you will need:
1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
1/3 cup honey
1/4 tsp salt
2 crushed calcium/magnesium tablets
water to make 4 cups
what to do:
blend, freeze and eat throughout labour.
