stockholm weekend pics, a bike ride in rosendals tradgard and a food truck market on skeppsholmen

this past weekend unwound itself slowly which was lovely.  maybe because we were taking it easy, not rushing, not needing to be anywhere in particular.  lazy mornings before heading out the door to enjoy the sun and returning home in the evening to prepare and eat light vegetarian meals while watching agent carter (yes, we sometimes indulge in dinner in front of the tv).  and there was stikkinikki ice cream too.

saturday

a bike ride around djurgarden island with a break for lunch at rosendals tradgardcafe, sitting under the apple trees napping (stefan) and playing cards (kai and i) then ending the day with a swim.  it's one of my favourite places and they serve the best mjuk kaka med kardemumma (cardamon cake!).  it was too long since we were last there, when snow covered the ground and we were eating lunch outside wrapped up in blankets (see this post).

sunday

the next day we checked out the food truck happenings on skeppsholmen - we ate well, a pork roast sandwich for him and a falafel wrap for me - with some lounging on the grass by the water reading magazines and enjoying the sunshine (kai missed this outing since he had a sleep over at a friend's home the night before).  if you live in stockholm do check out matholmen, it ends september 27, and the island itself is wonderful to explore, see this post.

i hope you had a relaxing, sunshine kind of weekend too.

for the next couple of weeks, while the three of us fumble a bit getting into a nice rhythm of routine again, i will only publish weekend pics and 52 weeks blog posts.  and, i will try (fingers crossed) to get my travelogue posts for gotland and london ready sooner than later.
