travelogue: portugal, part 2 lisbon

we really enjoyed lisbon; it has a shabby chic vibe to it.

we spent time in bairro alto and chiado with its cobblestoned laneways and colour drenched neighbourhoods.

we wandered around the parque du principle real area where we were greeted to live reggae music; impressed we paused to take in the music and view.

we shopped at a vida portuguesa, a home decor shop with the cutest sardine can packaging and soaps. actually, so many shops to gawk over. i brought home a practical yet pretty silver coloured tote.

and of course, we ate one of portugal's beloved pastries, the pastel de nata

lisbon is a visual treat...

this must be the cutest garden shop, ever.

with kam and family, we visited lisbon's waterfront with its torre de belem, wine tuc tuc and mercado da ribeira for delicious and traditional pea soup. by the river, the market houses renowned portuguese chefs whipping up traditional specialties but there's also food from around the world.

we are already thinking about returning for a long weekend, fingers crossed. but first, my next portugal post... waking up in the algarve!
