lullaby league

"it's like speed dating... only it's for parents and babysitters."  the moms behind lullaby league have such a brilliant idea.  the search for the perfect sitter is tiresome and time-consuming.  we've had great ones but they seem to leave at some point for various reasons, moving away, going off to school, and getting after school jobs.  actually our current sitter, talia, still looks after kai just not as often as she once did.  we found talia on craigslist, yes we did!  she is funny, sweet, and really interested in kids, and most importantly she likes kai and kai likes her.  i hope she will always be a part of kai's life.  because our awesome sitter is less available we've been searching for a second sitter.  a second sitter will help us out with our more regular date nights! 

this time we decided to let lullaby league help - they do all the searching and i just have to show up for an hour.  i spent an evening with 12 university students, 'interviewing' them for 3 - 4 minutes each.  after an hour, i had a handful of resumes tyring to remember who was who (i did my best to jot down notes).  a couple of them stood out for me and we've already had natalie over to spend some time with us and kai.  natalie is a writer and very well spoken.  kai is a creative and articulate kid so i think he and natalie will hit it off.
