we had friends over at our place for dinner. and, get this, i prepared one of the dishes! if you have been reading this blog you know that stefan prepares 99.99999% of the cooking in our home. thankfully, the sweet potato and coconut soup turned out okay. actually, it was quite yummy if i can say so myself. stefan prepared a beet salad with hazelnuts and blue cheese - like rhubarb, i love beets but don't eat them nearly enough. he also put together a lovely main of smoked salmon with pea puree - delicious. aadishri brought dessert - biscotti (my favourite) and ice cream, both homemade. we ate very well and then some fun boardgame playing ensued. a perfect evening.
kai loves home days. lounging in pjs for as long as he can. eating popsicles. experimenting with baking soda and vinegar. building a dragon village via lego with his dad (inspired by their addiction to the video game dragonvale), crashing a three year's birthday party (it was innocent, really), practicing his whistling, and a playdate at our place. it was a good weekend.
house grooming, friends, and good food. a lovely weekend trio, if you ask me.
yes, kai is wearing fleece pyjamas in the summer!
