weekend pics (5 pumpkins and 1 haunted house)

this weekend was about halloween activities.  both kai and i don't like to be scared... we actually have a pact to never scare one another.  so, after a thorough review of the dunbar haunted house video we concluded it would be kid-friendly before 7pm (at 7pm the live actors take their spots).  we were wrong... so very wrong.  the rattling doors, the baby screams, the gory detailing, and the darkness scared the bejeebers out of us.  stefan, running ahead to scare us didn't help either.  when kai declared he couldn't go on (the boy was terrified!) we took an early exit out and stefan braved the rest alone.  we promised each other we would try again next year... maybe.

 

 

 

the pumpkin patch was more along our pace.  well, it eventually was so.  you see i had a reluctant boy who didn't think he would have fun in the rain (since when?) but by the time we arrived the rain stopped and kai didn't want to leave.  who can blame him - hay playing, mini donuts, pumpkin pie, farm animals and mud... we had fun.  and not a single scary thing in sight.
