our friend's daughter's birthday party took place at the southlands heritage farm. we had never been before and we can't wait to go back! such a lovely little oasis in our own backyard. it was a lovely fall day for a party to laze about and watch the kids enjoy themselves. the little ones explored, rode ponies, swung on a tire, hammered nails into pieces of wood, and ran about looking for hidden horseshoes. the birthday girl, i think, loved the festivities taking place at her favourite spot in the city. i know we did... kai did not want to leave!
kara's favourite pony... rebecca bear

one goat, see images just below, loved nuzzling into kai... kai loved it too until the goat tried to kiss him!

the doggies, i think, really wanted to join the festivities

gorgeous paninis from la ghianda

the chocolaty cake... inspired by the one stefan made for kai's birthday

kara, thank you for the wonderful day at the farm

other scenes from the weekend...
- art project involving car designing
- kai and i whiled away a good amount of time at the bookstore, such an easy thing to do at kidsbooks
- i finally picked up some trader joe's groceries... so many canadians i know love this american grocer and spend the time to cross the boarder to visit so when i learned about a little shop, pirate joes, carrying their product i checked it out and guess what? i came home with stuff... the fig butter is very good (thanks for the intro lyda!) and kai would recommend the chocolate covered pomegranates
- stefan cooked up a storm, baked pasta with cauliflower and prosciutto and a corn based soup with kolbasa...both de.li.cious
- another game of settlers was played... and, again, not won by me
hope you had a lovely weekend.
