discovery #1, even when the sign is blinking 'low seats', ignore and buy your movie tickets anyway. despite the theatre being at capacity we managed to find three seats together in the back corner but it didn't really matter, wreck-it ralph was worth it. such a sweet film. and it’s candy infused ode to the video game culture had stefan amused by the nostalgia of it. vancouverites, watch this film at tinseltown then cross the street and eat at wild rice. we are never disappointment by this local foodie hang-out. so good.

discovery #2, i love my bangs. i have been thinking and thinking about getting bangs. i have coveted the look on other women but i never thought it would be possible for me. so, when amy from trim hair salon actually agreed to give me bangs i was a little nervous. it's only been two days but i am so glad i finally went for it. i have been told they make me look younger (proof: at the theatre i was asked if i had my student card with me!)
kai received a haircut too... and he is being silly.

discovery #3, i found a pant that i love and it's not jeans. all i wear is jeans... dress them up, dress them down, they really are the perfect pant. so when a colleague told me about cielo cords at a local shop called jack and jill i was sceptical. well, they are super comfy and look great on so i did what any other woman would do, i bought three pairs... in black, blue, and burgundy (pictured below)! love them.
i also acquired a new pair of shoes over the weekend! kai too.
discovery #4, spending monies is sometimes worthwhile. drum lessons are not cheap so we were a little reluctant to sign kai up. well, listening to him practice the drums this weekend, the lessons are paying off. my little guy is drumming! so cool.
discovery #5, vij's opened a food truck! for those that don't live in vancouver, vij's is the place to go for indian food. they don't take reservations so it means waiting... it's not unusual for a line-up to start before they open for dinner. walking along 4th ave looking to buy some shoes for kai (this boy won't stop growing!) we stumbled upon the food truck. i had the best chai ever! and we shared a curry, so good... i am not sharing next time.
discovery #6, i need to watch more documentaries. with the rain coming down hard, the three of us got comfy on the sofa and watched man on a wire, an oscar winning documentary about a french tightrope walker. it's crazy good. you will enjoy its style (1970's clothes and reenactments) and gripping suspense. we highly recommend it.
