kai has a birthday today. i tried bribing him to delay turning 11 but to no avail. and although it saddens me that he refuses to stay little, i am cheering him on. he will be fussed over that's for sure. there will be a pancake breakfast in bed, a hike on the north shore mountains, a steak dinner, and a birthday surprise. with a party in the works for next weekend.
kai at 11 is funny, sensitive, stubborn (like his mama!), and so smart. he reads fantasy novels, has given his heart to two girls, dreams up pranks, and belly laughs at his cats' antics. he has the best sense of humor. he sings in the shower and listens to linkin park's 'burn it down' on repeat. he loves mountain biking. he is the best 'big brother' to the littles in our life and in turn they adore him for it. he believes anything is possible... being a soccer player for barcelona (winger position) or a professional gamer for microsoft, maybe even a famous mathematician. he is my sweet boy... wanting to be fully independent yet happiest to snuggle in my arms.
