from early april it seemed everyone was talking about the cherry blossoms in kungsträdgården (the king's garden). located in downtown stockholm, the row of trees are very popular with tourists and locals alike. and why not, after an extremely long winter, the cherry blossoms signify the sunny beautiful days ahead (fingers crossed!). people are everywhere, on the steps of the wolodarski fountain, under the pink canopy, and in the park. most are happily taking photos.
my first visit with the photo club was a bit of a let down as most of the blossoms were still buds but we had fun nonetheless in kungsträdgården, we found a lion with painted pink paws and eyes and then some of the women got silly. the second visit, still not in full bloom. then, on my third visit, they were blooming beautifully.
they are spelling out 'photo' :) we were too early to see the cherry blossoms (trees behind them on either side of the fountain) |
for me, the blossoms were nostalgic. my vancouver home sits on the most beautiful street which is flanked by cherry blossoms for blocks and blocks.
