1. walking along soder malarstrand on a glorious may 1st with the lovely patrizia towards långholmen island where we brunched at wärdhus restaurang then meandered back along hornsgatan for shopping and fika.
2. on my way to kungsträdgården to see the blossoms i came upon a marching band - it was the king's birthday celebration, his 70th. so many people waiting by the castle in the hopes of seeing him. see last year's blossom's here.

4. celebrating the end of winter and looking forward to summer sunshine the swedish way, with a bonfire - called valborg in swedish - and friends. see last year's here.
9. kai and i volunteered at a photography exhibit - krigsbarn - raising awareness of children of war. i was proud of kai to get out of his comfort zone as he was responsible for handing out flyers, explaining what the exhibit was about and directing people to the exhibit. the exhibit provided great education about the consequences of war which can be glorified in video games and the movies - some of the photos were quite intense and all of the children's stories incredibly sad.
