skåne is the southernmost county of sweden. in the five-plus years that we have been living in sweden, we heard so much about it. in particular, what a great place it is to visit for a summer vacation. so, with our trip to italy cancelled, we took a train westward, then rented a car exploring the coastline, big open pastures, and cozy cafés and restaurants. it was everything we've been told and didn't even think about italy. well, kindof :)
lund
leaving malmö, we headed north towards lund, a quick stopover, before continuing on to helsingborg to attend kai's friend's birthday party.
the couple of hours we were there, we walked around the city centre, with it's imposing cathedral, popping into a couple of shops, before making a beeline to love coffee roasters, the suppliers to kaffebaren in malmö. on a cute little terrace, we fika-ed.
picking kai up the next day, we spent time with jenny and nils who took us on a tour of their hometown.
walking into town through the forest gave us views of the ocean, the bathhouse, and denmark in the distance. if we weren't living in the middle of a pandemic, we would have loved to drive over the bridge and spend a day in copenhagen.
