from the website, feast of fields highlights the connections between farmer and chef, field and table, and farm folks and city folks. Feast of Fields is a gastronomic journey towards a sustainable, local food system.
we (including melanie and india!) leisurely wandered from tent to tent visiting vancouver's many great restaurants and wineries. corn, potatoes, tomatoes and a myriad of other fruits and veggies were used to prepare the nibbles. but my carnivore boys weren't disappointed as there was plenty of meat and fish to eat too.
terra breads... i loved your flatbread squash pizza!!! the curried crusted seared scallop from edible bc was another favourite. for dessert, i loved cocolico's fig ice cream sandwich with hazelnut, oh my goodness it was pure delight. and the prosecco-like sparkling wine from 8th generation winery was very tasty! feast of fields is always pretty amazing (even in the rain!).
if you have never been, you must go! feast of fields allowed us to give a little love to the farms and farmers... without them we don't have anything to eat!!!
