we love finding little foodie gems in the woods by the water and, especially, sharing them with good friends.
we spent an afternoon, after a downpour of morning rain, walking along the trail this way and then that way (and you can go all around the bay too). the kiddos spent a great amount of time exploring the svindervik grounds, we hardly saw them :)
a 17th century slott (not quite a castle, maybe a mansion?) is located on the grounds - they seem to be everywhere in sweden - with an apple orchard too.
happy father's day to these two... the swedes celebrate in november! |
and there was champagne too! our friends are new home owners and ever so excited about it so stefan and i thought a little celebrating in the woods would be a sweet thing. congratulations x & p!
the cute cafe had a display of delicious looking treats and a lovely autumn menu. stefan had the goulash soup, the kiddos had a grilled sandwiches, and the rest of us chose dessert (i am crazy for any kind of almond treat!). the environment was a cozy one with blankets and lit candles inside.
by the way, there was more sunshine on this one day than there was the entire month of november last year when we first arrived to stockholm; i wondered where on earth i landed. anyway, i hope you had a lovely and bright weekend too!
